An example of how we can help occurred when an 84 year old gentleman contacted us. He was the Executor for the Estate of a recently deceased long-term friend and had felt duty-bound to agree to being the Executor many years previously when they were both in their 40's.

Sadly, when his friend passed away he decided that because he lived a long distance from his friend's home, and due to his own frailty he would prefer us to take over and manage the executorship on his behalf. This extended beyond preparing the documentation to submit to HMRC (Generally an IHT400 form), and included obtaining the Grant of Probate, liaising with museums and the National Trust regarding bequests to them, arranging for many items to be auctioned including an extensive porcelain collection, and then managing the clearance to charity of the remaining possessions. We also engaged the services of professional gardeners until the property was sold as the gardens extended to over two manicured acres. and we also arranged the sale of the deceased's car.
